PARTNERS IN THE PARK
The El Paso County Parks Advisory Board honored four community donors as 2016 Partners in the Park with commemorative plaques of appreciation.
The 2016 Partners in the Park
• Bob and Elly Hostetler for Fox Run Regional Park: The Hostetler’s are founding partners and have been supporting Fox Run Regional Park since 2009.
• Heuberger Subaru for Bear Creek Dog Park and Fox Run Dog Park: Heuberger Subaru has supported the Bear Creek Dog Park since 2010 and provided additional support for Fox Run Dog Park starting in 2013.
• GE Johnson Construction Company for Bear Creek Regional Park: GE Johnson has been a valuable partner supporting Bear Creek Regional Park for the past three years. GE Johnson also constructed a new bridge in the Bear Creek Regional Park in 2013.
• Gold Hill Mesa is the newest Partner with El Paso County Parks, supporting the Bear Creek Nature Center for the past two years.
The “Partners in the Park” Program was created in 2009 to provide financial support for a designated community asset in the El Paso County Parks system. All donations are used exclusively for El Paso County Parks; to preserve open space, sustain park amenities and to ensure ongoing sustainability for a specific park. All donations are tax deductible.
“Without the generous contributions of our citizens, community partners and a multitude of volunteers, we couldn’t operate our County Parks as efficiently or effectively as we do,” said Community Outreach Coordinator Dana Nordstrom. “The Partners in the Park program is a prime example of El Paso County’s many public-private collaborations aimed at maximizing County resources while minimizing the cost to citizens.”
Nordstrom is currently looking for additional Partners specifically for Falcon Regional Park, Homestead Ranch Regional Park, El Paso County Fairgrounds, New Santa Fe Regional Trail, Black Forest Regional Park, Fountain Creek Nature Center and Fountain Creek Regional Park.
About Partners in the Park:
At El Paso County we pride ourselves in finding partners who will work with us to increase community and park amenities without increasing ongoing operations costs. Corporate and community partnerships help genreate new revenue for operations and maintenance. Corporate and community partnerships are critical to filling a budget gap, but we also hope to build your trust that El Paso County has a Parks system worthy of your support.
Consider participating by selecting a park that reflects your location, needs, or values, as well as those of our County Park system. We look forward to partnering with you.
