Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generator
Small business owners in El Paso and Teller counties have a cost-effective and environmentally sound way to dispose of their hazardous waste.
The Household Hazardous Waste Facility accepts hazardous waste from small businesses through its Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generator (CESQG) Program. This fee-based program is operated in accordance with The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Hazardous Materials and Waste Management Division Guidelines. A CESQG designation limits the type and quantity of waste that can be accepted.
Does your business qualify as a CESQG?
"Conditionally exempt small quanitity generators (CESQG) of hazardous waste generate no more than 100 kilograms (about 220 pounds or 25 gallons) of hazardous waste, and no more than 1 kilogram (about 2.2 pounds or <1 quart) of acutely hazardous waste in any calendar month AND never accumulate more than 1000 kilograms of hazardous waste or 1 kilogram of acutely hazardous waste on-site at one time." [6 CCR 1007-3 Section 261.5].
NOTE: LATEX PAINT IS EXEMPT FROM THIS REGULATION AND IS NOT INCLUDED IN THESE QUANTITIES.
Registration in the program is required
Business waste is accepted every Thursday ONLY, 7am - 5pm
