Construction Management and Inspection Group
Within the Engineering Division, the Construction Management and Inspection Group’s main areas of responsibility include inspection of development projects, utility application review and inspection, driveway and access permit review and inspection, review and issuance of oversize/overweight transport permits, construction inspection and materials testing of in-house projects, project management and materials testing of contract projects, inspection and keeping inventory of bridges, negotiating utility agreements, contract preparation for material specifications and quantities, preparing construction cost estimates and technical specifications and planning review for local, state and federal projects.
The group is comprised of five inspectors and one inspection supervisor: Ed Braun, Inspector III; Paul Wiggs, Inspector III; Lee Zehnder, Inspector II; Kevin Clark, Inspector II; and Larry Syslo, Inspector II. Several members have certifications: hot bituminous pavements from CAPA (Colorado Asphalt Pavement Association), bridge inspections and contract administration from FHWA (Federal Highway Administration), erosion control and survey internship from CDOT (Colorado Department of Transportation), nuclear density testing from Troxler Company, concrete from ACI (American Concrete Institute), and are members of APWA (American Public Works Association).
