Justice Advisory Council meets every 2nd Thursday of the month at 105 E. Vermijo, Conference Room 474, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.

VISION     "The vision of the Criminal Justice Advisory Board is to promote an accountable and well-coordinated justice system that meets the needs of the Pikes Peak area communities."

MISSION    "It is the mission of the Criminal Justice Advisory Board to improve the fairness, effectiveness, and efficiency of the Pikes Peak area justice systems regarding issues affecting the courts, law enforcement, corrections, and human service agencies by fostering cooperation and collaboration at all levels of government to manage the justice system."

GOALS

  • provide timely information to all levels of government in the County regarding justice issues
  • foster research on such issues as offender flow, system effectiveness and effective use of criminal justice resources
  • promote the dissemination of information to the public and the justice system at large regarding justice issues
  • identify and encourage the development and use of effective alternatives to incarceration
  • establish such committees as necessary to promote the effective and efficient operation of the justice system
  • encourage and include community participation in the criminal justice process
  • facilitate the re-entry process of criminal offenders into a responsible and productive lifestyle
  • enhance cooperation, collaboration and communication among all justice agencies
