Instructions for Early Assistance Request Form


1)   Our Department only deals with properties in the unincorporated areas of El Paso County.

2)   This form may not be accepted if it contains insufficient information to allow Development Services to locate the property and/or contact you. A fee is required with each Early Assistance request. This fee will be credited against the submittal fee, once the project is submitted for processing.

3)   Tax Schedule Numbers should be provided if your request pertains to a particular property. This number can be obtained from your property tax records, by calling the Assessor's Office at (719) 520-6600, or on-line at www.elpasoco.com, Assessor's Department.

4)   Please indicate how you prefer to be contacted (phone, cell, fax, etc.)

5)   Early Assistance meetings will normally be scheduled on Wednesdays or other days, as available.

6)   Please be clear and specific about what you would like do on the property, especially if you want to subdivide it.

7)   In most cases, our Department will make contact to schedule an Early Assistance meeting within a few days after receipt of the Early Assistance Request Form. If you do not hear from us, give us a call at 719-520-6300 to be sure we received your request.

8)   Any information submitted at the Early Assistance meeting will expire one (1) year following the meeting if no submittal of an actual project is made.
