MISSION

We are responsible for protecting the taxpayers’ investment in a County system that transports people, goods, and storm water. This is accomplished by maintaining and improving a safe, reliable, and efficient County road network and drainage system.

VISION

We envision a continuing need to maintain and improve the County’s existing and future road network and drainage systems. This will be accomplished by utilizing available manpower, training, new technologies, and modern equipment. The Department of Transportation will meet escalating public demands, population, traffic, and regulations by increasing our ability to be more efficient, accountable, and responsive. We will continue to set examples, and to be recognized as a leader in County public works.

PHILOSOPHY

We believe in, and are dedicated to, a work environment that is characterized by integrity, honesty, openness, teamwork, respect for others, professionalism, positive recognition, equal opportunity, and concern for overall department effectiveness. We seek change and innovation in a manner that encourages participation, introspective review, new ideas, and opportunities. We will continue to serve the public efficiently and with the highest standards of quality, safety, and responsiveness while working to increase the public trust.
