Colorado Springs, May 8, 2008 - The El Paso County Board of Commissioners is seeking community-minded citizen volunteers to serve on several of its boards. Applications for the open positions are due June 13.
Associate members who serve for one-year terms are needed for the Board of Adjustment. This board hears and decides on issues of physical variances related to the county zoning code. Variance requests may include changes to dimensions, structural location, bulk limitations and other development requirements.
The Citizen Review Panel has a need for a private citizen representative to serve for a three-year term. The panel is an extension and continuation of the grievance (appeal) procedure established through the Department of Human Services’ Quality Assurance Program, provides a forum for the discussion of consumer concerns regarding the Department of Human Services, reviews and audits quality issues and concerns with the department, and considers and addresses other issues brought before it by the department.
