El Paso County Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is advisory to the Board of County Commissioners on most land use requests. Exceptions, where the request is not forwarded to the Board of County Commissioners, are Amendments to the County Master Plan and Location Approvals.

The Planning Commission currently meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. In addition to the monthly meetings, members are encouraged to visit the sites and review written Comments prior to each meeting. The agenda for the upcoming meeting is available approximately two weeks prior to the date of the meeting.

Meetings are normally held in the Hearing Room, Second Floor, Pikes Peak Regional Development Center, 2880 International Circle, Colorado Springs, Colorado. They begin at 9:00 a.m., with a lunch break at an appropriate place on the agenda.

Planning Commissioners are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. Associate Members serve one-year terms and may be reappointed innumerable times. There are nine Members, who serve three-year terms, with a maximum of two terms. Terms usually expire in May and vacancies are advertised in the Gazette. The Planning Commission is governed by adopted Bylaws, as well as Roberts' Rules of Order.
