GROW WITH US!
Fountain Creek Nature Center Expansion

Why Grow?

The Fountain Creek Nature Center was built in 1992 and is limited with only 1,200 square feet of public space. This limits the size and variety of classes, programs and rentals.

Modest Expansion

It is proposed to add a minimum of 1,500 square feet to accommodate the growing demand for programs. A preliminary design has been completed with an estimated cost of $600,000 to expand the facility and update the exhibits. Great Outdoors Colorado has provided a grant for $330,000, the County has provided $95,000 from regional park fees, and the Friends of El Paso County Nature Centers has committed $25,000 for a total of $450,000 raised to date. The campaign will continue with the goal of raising the remaining $150,000 for the exhibits.

Two Ways to Give:

  1. Visit either Bear Creek or Fountain Creek Nature Center (Wed-Sat, 9am-2pm & Sat 9am-4pm).
  2. Use this link for a donation form and mail your donation.

Who Benefits?

By expanding the educational and interpretive exhibits, the nature center will have room to support the growing number of individuals, families, and school children who want to discover more about our environment.

Giving Tree Recognition

A Giving Tree will be displayed inside the nature center. Leaves can be engraved with your name or in memorium.
