Project Management Group
This group provides contract administration for civil engineering design and capital the improvement program for road and drainage construction projects. The Project Management group is also responsible for coordinating with consultants, as well as for contract management for the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority (PPRTA) projects. They are involved with capital road, bridge and drainage projects. Many of their projects involve state, federal and county funding.
The people in this group are professional engineers and junior engineers who are responsible for management and oversight of contracted county engineering and road construction.

Stormwater Management Group
The Stormwater Management Group is comprised of a stormwater engineer, a stormwater coordinator who is responsible for water quality programs and permitting, and stormwater technicians. Responsibilities for this group include implementation of the county’s stormwater management programs, including water quality permitting, to ensure compliance with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) regulations. These projects involve extensive coordination with consultants and other county departments as well as federal, state and local agencies. This group is tasked with planning and prioritizing department projects, federal aid design and construction projects, public drainage facility improvement planning, and county drainage basin credits and reimbursement administration.

Engineering Services Group
This group is responsible for engineering designs, plans and coordination of projects including road rehabilitation, new roadway design, bridge design and rehabilitation, and evaluation and design of various types of drainage structures. The projects typically involve feasibility studies and design of improvements. The group is also responsible for the Pavement Management Analysis and bridge management. They determine the feasibility of road closures and maintain the official county road map.
