Hodgen Road Corridor Design
PPRTA Project #12 on List A
Estimated total cost: $12,000,000.00
The purpose of this project is to provide safety improvements along the Hodgen Road corridor, from State Highway 83 to Eastonville Road. Hodgen Road is currently classified as, and functioning as, an arterial, and the improvements will allow it to continue to operate safely as an arterial through the planning horizon.
The Access Management Plan, Corridor Preservation Plan and Funding & Phasing Analysis (supporting document) were approved by the BoCC on November 26, 2007. The BoCC gave direction to proceed with Preliminary & Final Engineering for Phase I, using the Recommended Road Section, as stated in the documents.
The documents can be viewed at the following link:
Phase I consists of safety improvements from SH 83 to the eastern leg of Black Forest Road. Proposed reconstruction of Hodgen Road is intended to smooth undulating hills, add shoulders, improve sight distance, and provide turning lanes to maximize corridor safety with available funding.
Permission to Enter forms will be sent to property owners directly adjacent to Hodgen Road within the project limits. Access to private property is necessary to obtain survey data.
Design is anticipated to be complete in the Spring of 2009. Construction is currently not scheduled.
URS Corporation is the consultant preparing the design.
